Paul Banning was born in 1934, Paul trained at Bristol Art College in Furniture and interior design. After a highly successful career in furniture design he took early retirement to concentrate on his first love - painting in watercolour.

His atmospheric work captures the soft and subtle light of the English landscape, but he also travels extensively in search of new and challenging subject matter. He has had one man shows in Holland, France and Dubai as well as London and the South East of England.

He is a member of theWapping Group, has exhibited with the RI, NEAC, RSMA and the RWS. His work has featured in Artist and Illustrator Magazine and Paul regularly lectures on watercolour technique. Paul was elected RSMA in 2004 and RI in 2005.
