Roger Dellar is a self - taught professional. Born in St. Albans in 1949 he has painted since childhood. He holds the City and Guilds Cerficate of Technical Teaching and teaches Art in adult education in Surrey, Sussex and Essex. He runs studio courses and is in demand as a demonstrator for local art societies in the southern counties. This is his fifth year at Crugsillick; he has also tutored painting holidays in Umbria, Italy, Greece and Turkey.

Roger is a figurative painter working in most mediums with a particular interest in marine subjects, in the ever - changing light, and in people in their own environments. Working mainly on the spot he is a great enthusiast for the sketch book.

He is a member of the Wapping group and has exhibited at the RWS, RSMA, RI, ROI, PS and the New English Art Club. He holds regular exhibitions in his own Hindhead studio and his work can be found in a number galleries in the Farnham, Guldford and Sussex area.
